My wedding dress was "Shellie", from the Maggie Sottero collection. It was an A-line dress with a lace-up back and tasteful beading on the bodice and the train. Originally it was a strapless dress but I had beaded shoestring straps added to the dress. I tried on about 15 dresses from three different bridal shops. We narrowed it down to the 4 best and then I picked from those. Although, I think I knew it was "the one" from the moment I tried it on. It's a cliche but it's true. Abbey Bridal have an exclusive deal with Maggie Sottero and they are the only Australian stockists. I wasn't really impressed with Abbey’s service. They have a lot of girls through every day, trying on and being fitted for wedding dresses. They have restrictions on when you can try on dresses and when you can be fitted. It felt like one big production line; roll them in, collect the cash, roll them out. The other shops had much better service and actually made you feel "special". It was a pity my dress wasn’t with one of the other stores. On my feet, I wore a pair of strappy, silver, Millani shoes. They had a very small heel and were very comfortable. |
