We had a cocktail reception at the Botanic Gardens Restaurant in the Royal Botanic Gardens. We were very impressed with the overall quality and service we received from the Botanic Gardens Restaurant. We would highly recommend them as a wedding reception venue. Thanks must go to Melissa, Jahna and the staff at the Botanic Gardens Restaurant for all their hard work. On the day, the BGR really went out of their way to make Andrew and I feel special. The wait staff made sure we were visited each time a plate of canapés was circulated. As soon as I'd finished my drink, one of the wait staff would appear to ask if I'd like another glass of champagne. These little things really added to our day. A potential problem with a cocktail style reception is that guests don't get enough to eat, going home hungry. That wasn't a problem at our wedding; the BGR catered superbly. Sufficient food was circulating at all times. The food was delicious too. We had a choice of tasty morsels such as scallops, duck pancakes, quiches, noodles in noodle boxes and steak sandwiches.
